Terms of Service

Fair terms for serious work.

Plans and billing, who owns your research, and the responsibility that stays with you.

Last updated September 30, 2026

These terms govern your use of the hosted Beeblio service. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to them. They are written to be read in one sitting.

If you run the self-hosted local edition of Beeblio instead, these terms do not govern your use; the license that accompanies that software does.

Accepting these terms

If you use Beeblio on behalf of a lab, department, or other organization, you confirm that you have authority to accept these terms for that organization. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the service.

Your account

You are responsible for the accuracy of your account information, for keeping your credentials secure, and for what happens under your account. Tell us promptly at mail@beeblio.org if you suspect unauthorized access. You must be old enough to form a binding contract in your jurisdiction, and if you are using Beeblio for coursework, you remain responsible for following your institution's academic-integrity policies.

Acceptable use

Beeblio exists to support careful research. You agree not to:

  • Use the service to fabricate data, sources, or results, or to commit research misconduct of any kind.
  • Upload material you have no right to process or share.
  • Attempt to identify private individuals from datasets without a lawful basis and appropriate safeguards.
  • Publish a share link or form that exposes someone's personal information without a lawful basis to collect or share it.
  • Reverse-engineer the service, scrape it at scale, or attack its infrastructure.
  • Resell access or use the service to provide services to third parties as if they were your own product.

We may suspend accounts that create risk for other users or for the service.

Plans, billing, and usage allowances

Beeblio offers individual plans — Free, Plus, and Pro — plus credit top-ups. Prices and usage allowances are shown on the pricing page and confirmed before purchase. Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled; payment methods available in Indonesia renew manually each month. You can cancel at any time; access continues to the end of the paid period.

Usage allowances are measured in credits and storage. Credits cover model requests, tool calls, compute time, document indexing, and transcription. Storage is the total size of your workspace files. Both are shown before purchase, and we will warn you in the service as your balance runs low. We do not charge overage fees: when your credits are exhausted, agent work pauses until your next allowance or a top-up. Purchased top-up credits do not expire.

If you connect your own OpenRouter API key, model usage for that work is billed by OpenRouter to you directly under your OpenRouter account, subject to their terms. Your Beeblio credits continue to cover workspace compute and the parts of the service we fund.

Your research data and ownership

You keep every right to the materials you bring to Beeblio — datasets, documents, notes, and drafts — and to the outputs you generate. Beeblio claims no ownership over them. You grant us only the limited right to store and process your materials in order to provide the service, as described in the Privacy Policy.

AI assistance is assistance

Beeblio supports your research; it does not replace your judgment. Outputs may be incomplete, outdated, or wrong, and models can present errors with confidence. You are responsible for verifying results, checking citations against their sources, and deciding what belongs in your final work. Research remains a human responsibility — that principle is part of these terms, not just our marketing.

Third-party services

Beeblio runs on infrastructure and model providers: hosting (Vercel), storage and AI services (Google), isolated compute (Blaxel), database and sign-in (Neon), model routing (OpenRouter), Office document previews (Microsoft), and payments (Lemon Squeezy and Mayar). We choose them with care, but their availability and performance are not entirely within our control, and their terms govern their side of the relationship. Where you connect your own provider key to your workspace, that relationship is between you and the provider, subject to their terms.

Availability and changes to the service

We work to keep Beeblio available, but we do not promise uninterrupted service. We may add, change, or retire features. If we retire something material to ongoing work, we will give you reasonable notice and a way to export what you need.

Ending the relationship

You may delete your account at any time by writing to mail@beeblio.org, which removes your projects as described in the Privacy Policy. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or create legal risk for us. If we terminate without cause, we will refund the unused portion of the current paid period.

Disclaimers

The service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind beyond what the law does not let us disclaim. We do not warrant that outputs are accurate, fit for a particular research purpose, or publishable.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Beeblio's total liability arising out of or relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose. Neither party is liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction where Beeblio's operator is established. The specific jurisdiction will be confirmed before paid plans launch.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the service evolves. If a change is material, we will notify you in the service or by email before it takes effect. Continuing to use Beeblio after that means you accept the updated terms. The date at the top of this page always reflects the current version.
